Your custom made itinerary by Open Doorways Travel starts with a "Discovery Call." During this call, we take the time to get to know you. We learn the way you like to travel and meaningful experiences you're hoping to have on your trip.
Once I get an idea of what you're looking for - whether that is a romantic couples getaway, a fun girls trip or a family or a multi-generational travel experience - I'll get to work curating the vacation of your dreams. OUR Signature Process
Once you decide on a destination, I get to work! I will use my travel expertise and connections to design a custom itinerary for you. Your proposal may include recommended accommodations, exclusive perks we offer, recommended tours and activities, and recommended flights and transportation. I begin putting together your custom itinerary and send you an initial trip proposal for review. From here, we'll make any necessary changes and tweaks and finalize the trip proposal together.

Once you have approved and signed off on the perfect itinerary, I will work closely with various vendors and tour operators to confirm and book each piece of your custom itinerary. We’ll also be working behind the scenes with our partners to secure perks like special requests, upgrades, and amenities.

Now the real fun begins! It’s time to send you off on your journey. You will begin your journey with confidence, knowing you have a team of pros supporting you. Our team and partners will be available to help ensure everything goes smoothly until you return home.

Open Doorways Travel is a fee-based service similar to an interior decorator or a financial planner. Our planning fee is based on the length of your trip, number of travelers, and complexity of the itinerary. This fee covers our expertise and research, itinerary design, access to our preferred suppliers, complete booking and management, and support while you travel. Charging a design fee allows us to give the best service to our clients and limit the number of trips we take on at once so you get our undivided attention. Following our initial Discovery call, we will discuss fees for your trip. Fees start at $400.
We do offer complimentary hotel bookings. We will take the hassle of booking off your plate and give you any VIP amenities that may be available. When you can't VIP yourself, let us do it!
Do you charge a planning fee?
I design travel experiences for groups and individuals to locations all over the world. I am connected to a global network of suppliers who are all experts in what they do. All my suppliers are vetted annually to ensure they meet the highest level of service.
What types of travel experiences can you design?
Virtuoso is an exclusive network of luxury properties, travel providers, cruise lines and more. Our host agency, Brownell is a member of Virtuoso which means we have access to breathtaking hotels, resorts, and cruise lines that offer our clients some extra special perks and amenities. It’s not uncommon to receive complimentary breakfast, room upgrades, spa credits, free wifi, or special event invitations when we book you into a Virtuoso property (all subject to availability).
What is Virtuoso?
Yes! Open Doorways Travel has the privilege of using Brownell’s Air Desk who acts as an air concierge service for our clients providing a seamless experience. For a fee, the Air Desk researches the best schedules and fares and helps with involuntary schedule changes, flight delays, flight cancellations and lost baggage. There is a 24-hour emergency service desk for any problems that arise outside of business hours.
